Take a week off from reading Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, your feed reader, etc. See how it affects you. If you do read, read a book or a bit of long-form journalism. Just make it something that has enough space to really expand and hit its stride and get its entire point across — instead of rapid-fire, quote-worthy, link-baity bits.
I did this once before. After one week, I noted a significant increase in personal mindfulness and time spent thinking in general, and a greater urge to write. I will do it again this week.
