I finally got the iPad Camera Connection Kit. As expected, it works great for importing photos from my camera (via either USB or the SD card), and that’s great and all, but it’s not my main reason for loving it.
The USB port half of the kit doesn’t just work for cameras. If you plug in a PC keyboard, you get a warning message that it is an unsupported device – but then when you try to type, it works. If you plug in a MIDI device (like my electronic keyboard), you get a warning message that it is an unsupported device – but then when you pull up Garage Band, you can play away without any trouble at all.
Now to buy a smaller MIDI controller to keep in my study…
…and maybe a smaller keyboard…

See? That keyboard is so huge it screwed up my page layout.
We have that same keyboard, but we don’t use it anymore. When we got our new computer, it came with a (much smaller!) wireless keyboard.
This keyboard is pure evil and no one on earth can possibly use it.
@Kirra: I wish I could get this keyboard without the numpad.
@Wife: Kirra can use it, apparently.
