progress

February 25th, 2010

Time for a pulse check. We’re about two months into the year, and I’ve had some goals to work on from the beginning of the year.

1) project365 — Well, I did pretty well for most of January, but as you can see I haven’t posted any photos for a while. I’ve actually taken several of the missing pictures, but haven’t uploaded them. I’ll give myself partial credit for effort ;-)

2) read 50 books — Two months in and I’ve finished two three books. On the plus side, I got into Lovecraft and have been working my way through several of his stories and novellas, throwing off my book count a bit. I’ll probably decide on a story-to-book exchange rate so that this reading can count toward my fifty books.

3) compete in a coding competition once a month — utter fail on this one: I haven’t participated in any yet.

4) join an OSS project — I’ve put some thought into this one. I’m going to try to do some Android development, so perhaps I can contribute to the Android project itself.

5) ensure that some of the books have value as Christian learning tools — like number four, this is more of an all-year goal, and not necessarily one that will have tangible value in February (which is good, because it doesn’t)

6) play guitar more often — this has been hit and miss, but I have been playing noticeably more than in previous years, which is a positive. If I’m up to it, need to practice a bit tonight…

So overall progress: worse than I’d hoped, but better than I expected. Here’s hoping you’ll see some more pictures up here soon, and I’ll make sure to let you know when I have any interesting patches to commit to something familiar :-)
